Title:
Kindergarten Teacher
Malia Lammay

My favorite moments in teaching are when my students are making connections and enjoying the process of learning! I have been teaching for over 20 years and the excitement of learning never grows old! I knew I wanted to be teacher after an internship my senior year at UC Irvine led me to my first job as a teacher’s assistant for students with special needs. After receiving my Bachelors in Psychology and Social Ecology I moved back to Northern California to pursue a master’s program at San Jose State while obtaining my elementary and special education teaching credentials. After enjoying 5 years as a special education teacher, I began teaching at Springer where I have taught grades 3, 2 and currently teach Kindergarten. I am passionate about helping children build independence and self-confidence as critical thinkers who can navigate their ever changing world. I enjoy developing rigorous curriculum to support all learners with an emphasis on cooperative leaning and fun! When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling, reading and going on adventures with my husband and 2 children.
